The Grand Opening of The Fresh Market at Dilworth Gardens took place today. Free tote bags and many sample stations, like the french toast and bacon station pictured above, were set up for the store’s first customers. The brand new store has all the staples you’d expect: an olive bar, a copious bakery, and loads of fresh flowers. The opening of this store also brought 75 new jobs to the area.

In addition to giveaways and drawings for $100 gift cards, the opening of the store was celebrated with a “Crack the Parmigiano Reggiano” ceremony. Dubbed as the king of cheeses, each wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano is made with 160 gallons of milk and aged a minimum of 12 months. Fortunately, it didn’t take that long to finish the redevelopment of the store!

Kelly McKinney is the store manager. This is the sixth location for The Fresh Market in the Charlotte area.

Brad Murr and Ken Chapman of MPV Properties managed the redevelopment. MPV Properties is also in charge of leasing and management of Dilworth Gardens.

Update: The Charlotte Business Journal also published an article and slideshow on 11/11/15 here.
