In 2001, J.Q. began his real estate career with Harris-Murr & Associates which later became The Carolina Group Partners. He is engaged in both brokerage and development and has completed a range of development projects including adaptive re-use projects, regional retail power center, and single tenant build-to-suits. J.Q. is an active broker with successes in land assemblage, buyer & tenant representation, and landlord & seller representation.

Prior to getting into the real estate business, J.Q. worked in the financial software industry for Dealogic, where he developed and sold deal management software.

J.Q. is a native of Charlotte and received a B.S. in Natural Resources from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
